North AmericaDestinations in North America
Located in the western hemisphere of the world, North America, relatively unknown to Europe until the late 15th Century, has remained a symbol of possibility, exploration, and liberty ever since.
As the third largest continent in the world and fourth in terms of population, North America consists of Canada, the United States, Mexico, and the various countries of Central America.
Its massive size that spans across various zones gives the continent a mix of geographies and climates, from the Rocky Mountains stretching from Canada to Mexico to the flat plains of the Midwestern United States, the glaciers and icy tundra of northern Canada and Alaska to the tropical rainforests of Mexico and Central America.
The US contains most of the tourist attracts with its highly developed cities like Boston, New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles spanning across its entire width, with the cities in south eastern Canada like Quebéc City, Montréal, and Toronto coming in at a close second. Mexico is often a getaway paradise with its warm climate and exotic resort towns of Acapulco, Cozumel, and Cancún.
